Café Poland’s eastern European appearance may be the first thing you notice about the small restaurant, but it will not be the last. Robert Burlinski opened Café Poland 6 months ago. Burlinski and his mother Iwona Galijska run the café.

The traditional Polish food helps reconnects people to their memories of Poland. Galijska said when they first opened many of their customers were familiar with their homeland, either from visiting themselves or having Polish ancestry.

“Some (customers) have polish root, the root are all 200 years old, and they still remembered,” said Galijska.

She thinks their food offers people an opportunity to learn more about Poland.

“I’m very happy to talk about my country when people asking me,” said Galijska, “maybe they (customers) have no Polish blood, but they know the food.”
